Brian Turner has donated some roasts and ground beef for the food event this weekend. Robert and I will be roasting and braising these cuts for our guests to enjoy.
Brian and his wife Joann (902 368 1444, joann@isn.net ), have been selling organic crops for the last 12 years, including oats for the Speerville Flour Mill in New Brunswick which has been providing Atlantic Canada with whole grain cereals and flours. Recently, Brian and Joann have been evaluating the way in which they raise their cattle and have started finishing their beef with grass.
Brian has been raising beef livestock his entire life. His father PP, raised livestock and still does at his farm just up the road from Brian and Joann. Brian and Joann are looking for ways to produce food in a more environmentally sustainable manner and would like to see that beef consumed closer to home.
Brian believes that grass fed beef production leaves a smaller ecological footprint than grain finished beef. Grass fed beef is tender and tastes great. There is less fat in grass fed beef and it is a healthier type of fat.
Brian is committed to producing a high quality product that will leave you satisfied every time you eat it. He welcomes your questions or comments about his grass fed beef and can be reached at 368 1444 or joann@isn.net.
