Norbert is an active promoter of organic produce. I have heard a lot about his company SeaSpray Atlantic Co-operative during the past month. I was impressed by their dedication to bring organic produce to restaurants and hospitals. This co-op has growers in all three Maritime provinces and Newfoundland.
Their products are being marketed wholesale to supermarket chains in the Maritimes, Ontario, Quebec and the United States, using the single-desk concept. This type of selling allows members to be able to plan what they grow for the markets and have an equitable opportunity for all members to deliver by working together as a team. Through single-desk selling, SeaSpray, members have promoted the production of a larger volume and a wider variety of organic produce.
